About The Position

Student Life Summer Intern - Housing Operations Position Overview The Office of Housing & Residence Life at Hanover College is seeking a motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented Housing Operations Intern for Summer 2025. This position (20 hours/week with one remote day) summer internship is ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in higher education, residence life, or student housing operations. The Housing Operations Intern will support major summer processes, including end-of-year move-out, summer housing operations, first-year housing assignments, and preparations for fall opening. This role offers hands-on experience in student support, housing logistics, and administrative coordination. Furnished 2-bedroom apartment or townhouse provided for the entire employment period. Meal blocks provided for use in the Campus Center when it is open during the summer. Responsibilities

  • Housing Operations & Administrative Support Assist the Associate Director of Housing Operations in processing post–move-out housing fines, documentation, and student communication. Support the creation, organization, and implementation of first-year housing assignments. Manage housing records, key logs, occupancy tracking, and administrative tasks throughout the summer.
  • Summer Resident Management Coordinate summer resident check-ins and checkouts. Assist with room readiness, cleanliness, key distribution, and general housing logistics. Serve in an on-call role for summer residents, responding to lockouts, urgent needs, and after-hours situations in collaboration with professional staff.
  • Collaboration with Camps, Conferences, and Facilities Work alongside the Camps and Conferences team to assist with occupancy management and summer housing operations. Partner with the Facilities Intern to coordinate building needs, maintenance requests, and other operational tasks as they arise.
  • Move-In/Move-Out & Facilities Readiness Oversee summer move-in and move-out procedures, ensuring smooth transitions. Work closely with the Facilities Intern to prepare residence halls for early arrivals in early August. Participate in building walkthroughs, inspections, work order tracking, and readiness checks for all residential spaces.
