About The Position

The Graphic Design Assistant supports Butler University Recreation & Wellness by
creating visually engaging marketing materials that promote programs, events,
and services across campus. This role focuses on graphic design, visual
branding, and digital content creation while collaborating closely with
Recreation & Wellness staff to ensure consistent, high-quality visual
communication.

Requirements

• Current Butler University student (preferrably 1st - 3rd year)
• Majoring or minoring in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and visual aesthetics.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.
• Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Basic photography/videography skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Design flyers, posters, digital graphics, and promotional materials for Recreation & Wellness programs, events, and wellness campaigns.
• Create social media graphics and visual assets for @burecwell’s Instagram and other digital platforms.
• Assist with maintaining consistent branding, typography, color usage, and visual standards across all materials.
• Edit and optimize graphics for print and digital use.
• Support basic photo and video editing needs for marketing and promotional purposes.
• Collaborate with Recreation & Wellness staff to translate marketing ideas into compelling visual designs.
• Assist with on-campus marketing efforts such as tabling materials, signage, and giveaways as needed.
