About The Position

The Student Nurse Intern/Extern position is designed to give RN nursing students valuable knowledge of professionalism in nursing practice, the experience of hands-on nursing excellence and best practice in patient care.

The Acute Care is a 30 bed inpatient unit that is part of a new transformational care team model created to improve patient care and provide nurses and nurse assistants new opportunities and support. The RN will team with an experienced virtual RN (vRN) and a certified nursing assistant to provide excellent patient care to patients in an acute care setting. This fast-paced unit has a diverse population of staff and patients with multiple medical co-morbidities.

As a Student Nurse Intern, you will:

Directly observes nursing care provided by an R.N. partner in the Acute Care unit.

Performs assigned patient care based on validated skills achieved in clinical/lab courses within your school of nursing.

Requirements

• Current CNA license with the State of Maryland required.
• BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
• Current enrollment in a School of Nursing and entering last year of program.
• Completion of at least one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation.
• Reads, writes, speaks, and comprehends the English language.

Responsibilities
