The Student Teller position is a temporary, part-time role designed for individuals who are actively enrolled as full-time college students during their period of employment. This position provides hands-on experience in retail banking while supporting daily branch operations and delivering a positive, relationship-focused customer experience. The Student Teller assists customers with routine banking transactions, follows established policies and procedures, and demonstrates attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. This role emphasizes professionalism, reliability, and strong customer service skills while learning foundational banking practices and developing effective communication skills. Student Tellers are expected to build positive relationships with customers by engaging respectfully, identifying basic needs, and referring customers to appropriate branch resources when needed. They work collaboratively with branch staff, maintain a welcoming branch environment, and uphold the bank’s service standards and values. Employment in this role is evaluated at the end of each summer period to determine continued eligibility and potential reappointment for future employment periods, based on performance, business needs, and ongoing full-time student status. Success in this role requires a commitment to learning, strong attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to balance work responsibilities with academic commitments while maintaining full-time enrollment.
