About The Position
Assist in Planning and Facilitation of Design Den. Staff Mayborn Museum Makerspace, Design Den, during open hours. This includes preparing supplies, set-up and tear down, facilitation, and testing and prototyping activities. Provide high quality customer service while communicating and engaging with visitors using making and tinkering facilitation strategies. Support Museum Engagement Spark Team student employees & occasional volunteers in Design Den, ensuring they are comfortable and well trained in the space. Work to keep storage closets and supplies organized. Monitor supply inventory and coordinate reorders with STEM Programs Coordinator. Assist in Planning and Facilitation of STEM Programs Help with events and programs (activities). This will include gathering supplies, testing and prototyping activities, facilitating (leading/supporting), set-up, and tear down. Evaluation, Observations, Reflection Research innovative ways to evaluate Design Den & STEM programs Take detailed observations at STEM events, both qualitative and quantitative, and assist in documentation Participate in weekly or bi-weekly reflection meetings to discuss tinkering practices and Design Den programming Other duties as assigned by supervisor Assist with covering on Museum Engagement team as needed with general museum programming
