About The Position

Purpose: To gain real-world hands-on experience in student ministry through a paid internship and discern if God may be calling you into vocational ministry. Essential Responsibilities during the 10-week Internship: Invest in your own thriving relationship with Jesus (10%) Participate in up to three spiritual direction sessions Attend HCC Students High School on a weekly basis as a student Attend the High School Summer Mission Trip Learn to lead the 4th/5th and Middle School Ministries (60%) Be introduced to Planning Center Services and learn to schedule volunteers Learn how to promote the ministry during the week utilizing email, social media, and Clearstream Organize and lead the game, snack, and check-in teams for Middle School Shadow the Students Director on how to prepare for a summer camp Prepare for leading a leader huddle and lead at least one leader huddle Learn how to utilize Planning Center Workflows to follow up with students and onboard new volunteers Participate in Fair Parking and lead a shift Admin and Leadership (10%) Attend Wildside Summer Camp as a leader Participate in monthly all-staff and lunch and learn meetings Meet weekly with the Students Director Relational Ministry (20%) Meet weekly with at least one middle school and 4th/5th grade student(s) to form relationships Meet weekly with at least one middle school and 4th/5th volunteer(s) Be present in the Sunday morning lobby getting to know new students Disclaimer: Please note this position profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required for this position. Requirements

Current high school student with sophomore or above status required.
Availability for up to 19.75 hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer. Tentatively scheduled from June 1 - August 6.
Satisfactory results on FBI/BCI background check process (if 18+).
Meet the expectations as listed in the enclosed Staff Expectations policy.
Proficient with Google Suite.
Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
Must regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another staff member.
