Work Arrangement: Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Milford, MI) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business. The Role: The Sub-System Lead Engineer (SSLE) is an individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and work throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution. Agile, systems engineering, requirements and embedded controls development, and calibration knowledge are a definite plus. We are specifically hiring for Electrification Propulsion Controls area - focused on optimizing system operation to maximize range and drivability of electrified vehicles, in support of VMEC growth in EV and PHEV space. Your seasoned expertise in the electrification domain will fuel the design and evolution of software components to optimize system operation and maximize range and drivability of electrified vehicles. This includes online optimization of torque splits on dual axles of Electric and Hybrid vehicles, selecting/stabilizing engine and transmission states using open and closed loop torque distribution strategies, managing system transitions, component limitations and driveline dynamics (compliance, lash, road load disturbances) to facilitate smooth driving operations in electrified drivelines.
