About The Position

As a Subcontracts Principal here at Honeywell, you will establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business leadership for your assigned commodity/category and/or region as per the Annual Operating Plan. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, as well as Export/Import regulations. In this role, you will impact the evaluation of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), company policies and program requirements. Your expertise in subcontract management will be crucial in identifying and resolving subcontract issues and developing mutually acceptable solutions. You will report directly to our Director of Strategic Sourcing and you’ll work out of our Tempe AZ, Glendale AZ, Clearwater FL, or Phoenix AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of procurement/subcontracts administration experience.
  • DoD procurement subcontracting experience (FAR15)
  • Detailed understanding of DoD Procurement Life Cycle
  • Experience with Federal Acquisitions Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience working with subcontractors during all phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Experience utilizing MS Office Suite, SAP, and other business tools used in the execution of subcontracts management activities.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all U.S. Government (USG) end use subcontracts with suppliers that will provide products and services necessary to perform install operations to our customers throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Create and implement sourcing strategies that align with program needs and schedule constraints.
  • Lead supplier meetings to align technical requirements, schedules, and development milestones.
  • Drive the creation and negotiation of development contracts with suppliers, ensuring appropriate terms, pricing, and risk mitigation.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure alignment with program deliverables and contractual obligations.
  • Work with a sense of urgency; proactively engage with the internal program office/contracts group and support lead Program Managers when dealing with matters of subcontractor cost, performance, and schedule.
  • Administer existing subcontracts with interaction with Program, Project, and Cost/Estimating Teams.
  • Lead, guide and mentor other subcontracts focal on the Electronics Team
