We are looking to add a Subrogation Specialist to join our Creative Risk Solutions team in West Des Moines, IA. Requirements

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • Technical designations encouraged, such as AIC and CPCU.
  • 3 to 4 years of adjusting property and casualty claims including extensive experience in the subrogation and salvage arenas.
  • Experience with Arbitration Forums hub and CoPart Auto Auctions, competence in simple to complex mathematical calculations, knowledge of or ability to learn state insurance regulations and pass state licensing exams.
  • Foster relationships, prioritize problem-solving, and collaborate to deliver impactful solutions, be flexible and respond effectively to changing conditions while balancing strategies and needs, plan and utilize resources efficiently to complete projects within budget and deliver quality results.
  • Understand and apply claims principles, practices, and insurance coverage interpretation for consulting, evaluating, and resolving claims.
  • Contributes to workflows while utilizing resources to deliver a world-class client experience and ensure compliance.
  • Fosters relationships by understanding relevant parties, prioritizing problem-solving, and collaborating to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities on automobile, work comp, and general liability claims.
  • Coordinate subrogation efforts against at-fault parties and their insurance carriers.
  • Submit arbitration applications for collections and respond to arbitrations defending insureds, counterclaiming when appropriate.
  • Obtain and monitor salvage documents for insured and claimant total loss claims.
  • Coordinate with collection agencies and attorneys as needed.
  • Communicate collection options with insured members.
  • Confirm coverage for commercial auto and general liability claims.
  • Investigate bodily injury/liability claims and negotiate settlements using "Best Practices for Claims."
  • Maintain accurate loss information in the claim system.
  • Set and maintain reserves, negotiate, and process settlements within authority.
  • Research and respond to questions and complaints from insureds, claimants, agency partners, and carriers.
  • Participate in claim reviews and Risk Control Workshops.
