About The Position
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineering Intern, Protection and Controls, to join our team. This position will be a part of our Renewables Division. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This internship is for Summer 2026.
Requirements
- Demonstrates willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized field
- Growing knowledge of profession as demonstrated by involvement in related professional organizations and professional development programs
- Basic knowledge of the firm’s policies, practices and procedures
- Basic knowledge of software required for position
- Good organizational skills
- Able to follow general directions and work with limited independence on basic computations
Responsibilities
- Prepares preliminary analysis on a variety of technical tasks
- Project research, fieldwork, observation, and preliminary design calculations
- Take personal responsibility for the quality of tasks performed
- Uses CAD/PLSCAD to prepare and check working drawings, details, layouts, and estimates
- Performs routine analysis to check the accuracy of data and work products
