HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check. Please note we are building a registry of qualified candidates and hours will be assigned only if a substitute is needed.

Requirements

  • New York State Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Must have experience working with children in a school or camp setting
  • Must have current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Kids on Campus staff to provide a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Treats minor injuries and illnesses and contacts parents as necessary
  • Responds to any medical emergency in the Kids on Campus programs and aids until emergency personnel arrive
  • Reviews and records immunization and medical release forms and follows up as necessary
  • Assists with camp check-in as it relates to collection and review of medical release and immunization records
  • Talks to parents about health conditions and concerns
  • Stores camper medication in secure area
  • Supervises administration of medication
  • Responsible for maintaining medical log
  • Role models appropriate behaviors and provides positive reinforcement for camp participants
  • Interacts with counselors, teachers, and other camp administrators to facilitate smooth day-to-day operation of programs
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential records
