About The Position

An Accounting internship at Ovative is a truly unique opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytically minded problem solver to take on a meaningful role at a fast-growing company with the highest standards for talent, fun, and client success. You will be held to a high standard of confidentiality and ethics, as you’ll be managing sensitive financial information on a regular basis. The Internship Experience Interns will go through a robust onboarding bootcamp during their first couple weeks at Ovative to gain a big picture view of our business, history, and vision Interns will meet with senior leaders for both project work and informational interviews Interns will be invited to internal meetings to experience the full scope of finance and accounting at Ovative Interns will work closely with managers for training, project work, and mentoring

Requirements

  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Ability to think critically, break down problems, and propose solutions through a data-driven lens
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to share ideas effectively in group projects, presentations, or stakeholder interactions
  • Consistently produce accurate, thorough, and organized work with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work well with others and manage interactions with peers, managers, and stakeholders in a respectful, professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks or projects and complete them with limited supervision
  • Examples of leadership, initiative, or ownership in academic, extracurricular, or work settings
  • Familiarity with basic tools such as MS Office (especially Excel), Google Workspace, or similar software
  • Interest in accounting principles and comfort working with numbers and financial data

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the month-end close process and financial statement preparation
  • Gain real-world experience with financial systems, including Workday
  • Learn how to create invoices, process bills, and manage expenses — and understand their impact to financial statements and reporting
  • Support heavy data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial performance
  • Partner with finance leaders to investigate financial trends and share key insights
  • Execute discrete pieces of analyses using analytical tools (e.g. Excel, Workday reporting)
  • Translate analyses into clearly communicated insights (via slides, email, etc.) to internal stakeholders
  • Be a team player and be ready to take on ad hoc tasks as needed to support the team
  • Cultivate a transparent, trustworthy, and ethical work environment by staying engaged, curious, and accountable
