About The Position
This position will be responsible for assisting the Plant Engineering group in all projects resulting in optimizing safety, quality, and productivity of any and all carlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in progress within the field of Mechanical Eng, Industrial Eng, or Automation Eng
- Completed three semesters towards degree
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Complete three alternating rotations for co-op positions
- Able to work in the US indefinitely and without restrictions
Responsibilities
- Provide support for day to day operations of engineering department.
- Assists production and maintenance in isolating complex manufacturing issues whether it is in process, material, or machine functionality related.
- Optimize production processes for all parts.
- Recommend production equipment and specifications for production department.
- Assist in team development of Process Flows, FMEAs, Work Instructions, Time Studies, Machine Capacity, etc.
- Responsible to work with support departments in scheduling and reporting of trials and the development of routings.
- Responsible to track and coordinate continual process improvement projects.
- Provide appropriate communications to Department Manager and Supervisors as needed to achieve and maintain labor efficiency, machine efficiency and costs.
- Ergonomic review and improvements
- Maintain equipment documentation (machine manual, drawings, backup programs, etc.)
- Responsible in assisting Maintenance to understand what PMs and spare parts are required.
- Manage various plant level projects
- Completion of LSS Yellow Belt Certification and project
