Hachette Book Group’s summer internship program offers individuals an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry and explore an area of interest. Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Pay rate: $17.00/hour As an HBG special markets intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings. To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities. Who You Are: Self-motivated, hands-on, enthusiastic individual that delivers work accurately and on time Using strong written and verbal communication skills you will interact with internal and external stakeholders Strong organizational skills will be necessary to multi-task and prioritize work Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative and team environments Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are needed (i.e. pivot tables and lookups) and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with social media outlets and content creation a plus Strong interest in book publishing
