Summer Associate - Marketing/Sales (Columbus, OH)
About The Position
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best. The Summer Associates Program is PHLYs exclusive internship experience. It will require students to think critically about the daily responsibilities of an insurance professional. You will learn the ins and outs of the internal systems and work alongside professionals to complete team and company objectives. You will learn the impact of your department on the overall company and its success. This role will be responsible for assisting with daily tasks and projects in support of the PHLY Marketing (Sales) team. This role will require strong relationship building skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced team environment. This role will work alongside our Marketing (Sales) Reps to gain an understanding of how to sell PHLY insurance products. The individual will participate in agent meetings learning how these important relationships are established and strengthened by the Marketing team. The individual should have an interest in pursuing a sales career and be motivated by setting and achieving goals, having a competitive drive.
Requirements
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Nice To Haves
- Involvement in community and extracurricular activities is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assistance with managing weekly reports for the Marketing team
- Evaluation of ex-dates on accounts
- Participation in Marketing team meetings as well as regional cross functional meetings
- Active participation in agency meetings
- Exposure to regional peer team members to learn intricacies of each division
