About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Summer Camp Directors to guide campers through a summer filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable adventures. This is your chance to lead, inspire, and create lifelong memories for children while being part of a supportive, award-winning team. Schedule: Pre-summer: Up to 3 hours per week, increasing to up to 6 hours per week beginning in May Summer: Monday–Friday, shifts between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM Potential to continue beyond summer with different hours Dates: May 25 – June 26, 2026 Status: Part-time, non-exempt Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience About Healthy Kids Programs Healthy Kids Programs is more than a childcare provider. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must meet one Virginia-approved education and experience pathway: Graduate degree in a child-related field with 6+ months programmatic experience Bachelor’s degree or endorsement in a child-related field with 1+ year programmatic experience 48 semester hours (or 72 quarter hours) including 12 semester hours (or 18 quarter hours) in child-related subjects plus 1 year programmatic experience 2 years programmatic experience including 1 year in a supervisory role plus an early childhood certificate, CDA credential, or recognized Montessori certification
- At least 6 months of experience supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff, or completion of approved management training or coursework
- Must successfully complete all applicable background screenings in accordance with Virginia state regulations
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily camp activities, games, hands-on projects, and special events, including arts & crafts and themed activities
- Create a positive, inclusive environment where campers feel supported, encouraged, and engaged
- Supervise, train, and support camp staff, including implementing the curriculum to ensure high-quality program delivery
- Ensure camper safety and follow all state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school policies
- Communicate daily with families using the Playground App and provide support during parent orientations
- Support community outreach to promote the program and engage prospective families
- Lead by example with enthusiasm, positivity, and a can-do attitude
