About The Position

Under supervision of the Director for Childhood Hunger and in coordination with the Food for Kids Support Manager, the Summer Feeding Assistants are responsible for traveling to and conducting monitoring visits at Summer Feeding sites to ensure compliance with federal program requirements, and the review and processing of meal services for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), including initial review of reports, contacting sites for corrections, inputting the reports into a database, and filing reports as directed.

Requirements

  • Earning a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets organizational standards.
  • Commitment to advancing the mission of ending hunger.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to complete a background check, motor vehicle record review, drug screening and physical assessment as required for the role.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow all State Department of Education requirements regarding the Summer Food Service Program
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a high pressure environment.
  • Phone and face to face communication and problem solving skills are important to the success of this position

Responsibilities

  • Completing federally mandated monitoring and follow up visits of SFSP sites and compiling reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as directed by the Food for Kids Support Manager.
  • Assisting with training of SFSP sites and/or delivery of materials
  • Reviewing submission and accuracy of daily meal services from all Summer Feeding sites utilizing data software Link2Feed; upkeep of tracking spreadsheet and compilation of meals served by site and in sum for reports and reimbursement
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with sites regarding any necessary information
  • Providing additional assistance to support staff working on the Summer Feeding Program and other projects in the Childhood Hunger Department, as needed
  • Completing federally mandated monitoring and follow up visits of CACFP sites and compiling reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as directed by the Food for Kids Support Manager.
  • Assisting with training of CACFP sites and/or delivery of materials
  • Reviewing submission and accuracy of daily meal services from all CACFP sites utilizing data software KidKare; upkeep of tracking spreadsheet and compilation of meals served by site and in sum for reports and reimbursement
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with sites regarding any necessary information
  • Providing additional assistance to support staff working on the CACFP other projects in the Childhood Hunger Department, as needed
