About The Position

The Branch Support Intern will learn about the daily operations of the Branch Support Department. An internship designed to give high school or college students exposure to the credit union industry while supporting the team with various tasks. The intern will observe and assist with branch operations, learn about compliance and procedures, and help with basic administrative duties. This is a learning position with mentorship and supervision provided.

• High school graduate or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit
• 3rd or 4th year college student
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Credit must be in good standing.
• Must be bondable pursuant to §713.3(b) of the NCUA’s Rules and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Observes and may assist with support provided to branches, including phone and online communication.
• Assists with keeping documents organized and updated, including filing, preparing materials for audits and/or reports
• Provides basic administrative tasks and assists with small projects.
• Observes and may provide support to the branches in balancing, transaction corrections, and compliance.
• Observes how the department manages and maintains the credit union’s Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and Business Accounts.
• Observes how the department reviews Trusts, Power of Attorney, and other legal documents and determine if additional legal opinion is needed.
• Observes and may respond to policy and procedural questions by observing team interactions.
• Shadows team members to understand how to resolve member concerns.
• Get hands-on experience using intranet (AlohaNet) and other internal systems.
