Effective child support services are an essential part of the larger effort by the Commonwealth and the federal government to promote families' economic self-sufficiency. DOR/CSS’s core functions are to establish parentage, and establish, enforce and modify child support and health insurance orders. Much of our success depends on collaborations with a wide variety of state agencies and private entities. Position Summary Interns will provide support to the Northern Regional office with a focus on pre-obligated case flow and legal processes. Interns will be responsible for reviewing subsets of the pre-obligated caseload to gather data, assist with identifying and increasing paternity referrals, identifying cases appropriate for court, and cases appropriate for closing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data integrity reviews of cases to correct errors.
  • Contact customers via phone and/or email to solicit documentation and gather missing information.
  • Complete research to supplement case information by accessing various systems, including documenting and uploading results.
  • Work with various units on case referrals to move cases through the legal process.
