About The Position

An internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to college students. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at an entry to mid-entry level position. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

Requirements

  • Credit must be in good standing.
  • Must be bondable pursuant to §713.3(b) of the NCUA’s Rules and Regulations.
  • Must be available for Orientation: June 1, 2026
  • Program duration: 9 weeks (June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply exception criteria and thresholds
  • Identify red flags and areas of concern
  • Identify compensating factors
  • Match loan purpose with loan types and structures
  • Mitigate risk through loan structuring
  • Understand the various pieces of legislation that impact Consumer Lending
  • Balance addressing credit risk with regulatory compliance
  • Rotate through our divisions of responsibility and provide ideas to grow and improve the business.
  • As appropriate to the position and as specified by unit management, accept designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and presents final project during the internship.
  • Engage with other employees and provides service.
  • Provide suggestions for management to improve member service and internal processes.
  • Learn and becomes proficient using internal software systems.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Complete all regulatory compliances as assigned.
