Great American Embedded Solutions offers a suite of products for embedded insurance opportunities through several verticals. The unit recently entered the travel insurance market and is seeking an intern for underwriting and financial analysis within our new travel offering. The role would be located at our company headquarters in Cincinnati. The internship will be full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2026, with potential to transition to a part-time role (10-20 hours/week) remotely during the school year. The intern will review and evaluate product and rating information for existing and new opportunities. They will work closely with experienced underwriters and product analysts to learn customer service skills and standards. The program includes a combination of activities designed to give the intern a comprehensive understanding of the underwriting and product development disciplines.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in such areas as business administration, finance, economics, statistics, marketing, communications, or risk management and insurance.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage/prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours in the summer and potentially 10-20 hours while in school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for product development initiatives and the financial evaluation of new business proposals.
  • Assist in underwriting activities for both new and existing business opportunities.
  • Conduct financial analysis and policy processing functions in support of operational objectives.
  • Perform administrative duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
