Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an open position for a paid summer internship as a Maintenance Intern with our Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities team at our location in Bend, OR. The program duration is for summer 2026 with some flexibility with start dates and end dates to accommodate life and school schedules. What you will get: Opportunity to support the maintenance team, helping with continuous improvement projects. Opportunity to work with a plant CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Experience working within the mechanical spaces including facility and equipment walkdowns and identification.

Requirements

  • Safety-first mindset when executing tasks.
  • Strict adherence to Quality Standards with respect to documentation and data integrity.
  • Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree with at least 40 university credits.
  • Promote safety and demand high quality standards for work being performed
  • Enthusiastic about the biopharmaceutical industry and learning about industry technology.
  • Strong Interest in working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • The Bend site includes multiple buildings throughout town and the successful candidate will need their own reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently with limited oversight once appraised of tasks.
  • Follow established workflows and systems, where applicable.
  • Equipment walkdown, labeling of equipment for accuracy.
  • Interaction with Engineering and Technicians to complete continuous improvement tasks.
  • Support the Maintenance Engineering team with compliance-based projects and 6S projects (kitting).
