About The Position

As a Network Engineer Intern, you’ll work with full-timers to learn how we maintain and build critical infrastructure to support the Sirius XM and Pandora technology platform. In addition, you will help support the load balancing services network inside our office and studio environments where our great content is created. Requirements

  • Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, network engineering or other technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as troubleshooting basics (e.g., ping, traceroute, curl, netstat) and routing protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, PHP, shell, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and cross-functional teams to complete network projects based on prioritizations.
  • Assist in the operations of the Sirius XM Pandora 24/7 network.
  • Help build the next generation of media consumption platform.
  • Working on cross-team projects such as office network upgrades and data center consolidations
  • Troubleshooting network routing, switching, and load balancing services protocols
  • Provisioning SSL certificates for listener facing services
  • Automating support tasks and improving the team’s ability to monitor the network
