The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office (“Treasurer’s Office”) offers a variety of low-cost, high-quality financial products to help individuals and families save for retirement, higher education, and the future. These programs help to fulfill the Treasurer's Office’s mission to give families the tools they need to build a more secure financial future. The Financial Products division is responsible for administering the following programs, including program oversight, marketing, product development, and analysis: College Savings: A set of programs including a direct-sold 529 plan (Bright Start), an advisor-sold 529 plan (Bright Directions), and a children’s savings account program (First Steps) Financial Education: Programming for youth and adults IL ABLE: A savings program for people with disabilities Illinois Secure Choice: A retirement savings program for private-sector employees who lack access to a workplace retirement plan The Financial Products team seeks an undergraduate student intern who will help support several of the programs. The student intern will be assigned to the primary projects detailed below, with a possibility for further opportunities depending on interest, availability, and need.
