About The Position

Summer Internship Opportunity at Includ(Ed) Gain Hands-On Experience in OT, PT, Speech, Music Therapy, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education Location: Includ(Ed) One of our two locations: Pacific Beach OR Point Loma, San Diego Dates: June 8, 2026 August 28th, 2026 (flexible depending on school schedules) Hours: MondayFriday, 9am-3pm (Commitment of minimum of 15 hours a week- partial days, full days, 2 days, 3 days, 5 days available- we work with your school schedule!) Compensation: This is an unpaid internship About Includ(Ed) Includ(Ed) is a non-profit, early intervention-focused, full-time preschool that provides high-quality, inclusive education for children with and without disabilities. Our mission is to increase access to quality early childhood education and childcare by fostering an inclusive, relationship-centered, and play-based learning environment. Internship Overview This summer internship offers a unique opportunity for college students or pre-professionals pursuing careers in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education. Interns will gain hands-on experience working with children aged 010 support classroom activities, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators and therapists. Youll be paired with a mentor from your field of interest, offering personalized guidance, professional insights, and opportunities to shadow therapy sessions and classroom interventions.

Requirements

• Current college student or pre-professional interested in pursuing a degree in OT, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy, Education, Special Education, Child Development, or related fields.
• Passion for inclusive education and working with young children.
• Reliable, flexible, and eager to learn.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with children is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers and therapists in implementing inclusive, play-based learning activities.
• Assist with individual and small-group interventions, including speech, OT, and music therapy sessions.
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate play and learning experiences.
• Help create and organize classroom materials and visual supports.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions around child development and inclusion practices.
• Collaborate with therapists and educators to observe and learn therapeutic techniques and teaching strategies.
• Support children with and without disabilities in accessing the preschool day.
