About The Position

To operate the lift in accordance with policies and safety procedures outlined in the lift operations training manual. To ensure the safe loading and unloading of the riding public and confirm that all guests have valid lift tickets and well-organized lift lines. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in various weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Able to work up to 40 hours per week including holidays, weekends, and evenings, as necessary.
  • Ability to operate a ski lift, load and unload guests and their bikes on a ski lift, direct guests through lift lines, and maintain ramp conditions in all areas in varying types of weather.
  • Ability to ride a chairlift as a passenger.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ pounds, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment skills in dealing with guests.
  • Ability to react quickly under pressure.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to complete paperwork and keep records in an organized fashion.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the lift throughout the shift.
  • Observe lift performance and report unusual conditions or mechanical concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct required pre‑operation and end‑of‑shift checks.
  • Participate in lift evacuation training and assist in evacuations when necessary.
  • Follow all operational procedures, including opening routines, downloading procedures, and last‑chair protocols.
  • Maintain clean, level loading and unloading ramps.
  • Keep lift areas and operator shacks organized, free of hazards, and properly secured at the end of each day.
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks around the base area and assist with debris removal near lifts, buildings, and slopes.
  • Support setup, takedown, and operation of Airbag activities as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately to include the Daily Lift Log.
  • Communicate issues professionally to supervisors and request assistance when necessary.
  • Ensure break rotations are completed on schedule.
  • Greet guests and provide clear instructions for safe loading and unloading of lifts, including assistance for children, bikes, and other unique circumstances.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional presence while answering questions and supporting a positive guest experience.
  • Monitor guest flow and manage lift mazes to maintain orderly crowd control.
  • Stay alert at all times to ensure rider safety and respond appropriately to issues or emergencies.
  • Follow company and departmental standards for punctuality, attendance, dress, and grooming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
