About The Position

The City of Madison, SD is accepting applications for seasonal Summer Program Assistants at the Madison Community Center. This position assists with supervising children in our summer program and helping with daily activities, field trips, and educational opportunities. You'll spend your days helping lead games, crafts, and activities, supporting kids with learning opportunities, and helping create a safe and welcoming place where kids can play and grow. You'll work alongside our Youth Services team to keep the energy high, the activities organized, and the smiles going all summer long. It's a great opportunity to build leadership skills, gain experience working with youth, and be part of a team that helps make summer memorable for local kids. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Hours typically range between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with flexible scheduling based on the needs of the summer program and community center events. This position interacts with children, youth, adults, staff, and members of the public. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age, dependable, punctual, and able to perform duties with a professional attitude. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; however, certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not already held.
