About The Position

Manage the Summer Leadership Program of interns ages 16-24 and implement the Summer “Kids Camps” in local under-resourced communities and work with any church/business Short Term Missions groups.

Requirements

  • Program & People Management: Demonstrated experience coordinating youth, camp, or community programs, including recruiting, onboarding, and supervising volunteers or interns in a structured setting.
  • Leadership Development: Skilled in mentoring and guiding young leaders through regular check-ins, reflective practices, and assigned study or growth activities.
  • Logistics & Operations: Proven ability to manage moving parts — scheduling, supply coordination, meal/snack prep, and budget tracking — ensuring programs run smoothly week to week.
  • Communication & Organization: Strong written and verbal communicator; responsive to emails and calls in a timely manner and experienced maintaining shared digital tools (e.g. Google Drive/Sheets) for team tracking and reporting.
  • Community & Church Partnership: Experience or ability to collaborate with church groups for short-term missions teams or community organizations to align efforts and maximize impact.
  • Servant Leadership: A track record of stepping in wherever needed with humility, a team-first mindset, and a commitment to unity across staff and volunteers.
  • Spiritual Maturity & Biblical Knowledge: Demonstrates a growing, authentic faith with a solid foundation in Scripture. Able to lead interns and volunteers with spiritual discernment, facilitate meaningful book study and reflection discussions, and model Christ-like character.
  • Mission Alignment: Grounded in biblical values and motivated by serving underrepresented communities, particularly children and youth.

Responsibilities

  • Interview potential intern candidates and notifies them of acceptance or rejection (week of May 4th).
  • Host an orientation week prior to the start date.
  • Manage the interns with weekly guidance and direction.
  • Schedule rotating staff interactions once a week for 30 minutes.
  • Book Study (assign weekly reading and discussion times).
  • Intern Weekly Reflections (collect and review).
  • Assign groups of interns each week to serve in the Summer Kids Camps in specific communities.
  • Make sure supplies and meals/snacks are ready for each week to go out with the interns into the communities (work with Operations to make sure these supplies are set aside for your interns each week).
  • Use the Google Drive to keep accurate statistics and materials.
  • Work with Operations Director as needed to correlate the activities with the Mobile Food Pantry to avoid or assist with any group overlaps.
  • Coordinate an end of the season thank-you party for interns.
  • Communicate and work with integrating any church short-term missions groups that want to serve in the communities with the interns.
  • Turn in any receipts to the Administrative Assistant by Fridays.
  • Restock any supplies as needed by checking with the interns and staff.
  • Return your emails or phone calls in an orderly fashion.
  • Attend any staff outings, events and training as requested.
  • Be available to share personal gifts and talents in all areas of the ministry as needed by staff and team.
  • Assist any staff or intern with tasks as needed that are not unethical or unbiblical, with a servant’s heart and an attitude that promotes unity.
