About The Position

The overall purpose of this position is assist in the maintenance of Public Buildings & Grounds properties, and facilities.

Requirements

• High school education, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Must be over the age of 18
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Body agility is emphasized using feet, legs, hands, arms, and body equilibrium.
• Position requires above normal lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, grasping, and upper body and back muscle exertion.
• Vision requirements (with or without correction): clear vision at arm’s length and distances up to 100 feet.
• Excellent depth perception and ability to observe up or down, to the right and left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
• successfully passing a post offer drug screen is required (random drug testing may be conducted after employment).
• Background checks producing acceptable BMV and criminal history report required.

Responsibilities

• Operates power tools, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, hand tools, and other related equipment.
• Watering flower beds and planters.
• Assist building & grounds maintenance personnel with day-to-day maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and tools.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Crew Leader and/or the Public Building & Grounds Department Head.
