About The Position

This position is responsible for onsite supervision for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, material deliveries, and equipment, ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications, and managing the project budget and schedule.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret all design drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient understanding of all aspects of the scheduling process.
  • Ability to understand and implement work scopes for every trade category on the project.
  • Proficient computer skills are necessary to work on the company or owner-required construction software platform.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Competent computer skills to produce accurate and well-presented reports.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, owners, subcontractors, and vendors individually or in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English/Spanish (preferred).
  • Able to work additional hours, including weekends, as required.
  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Sciences, and/or seven (7) years’ extensive experience in construction required.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of related construction experience in a supervisory role.
  • OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
  • Valid driver's license with clear MVR required.
  • Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • Regularly climb stairs or ladders, etc.
  • Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Occasional prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
  • Able to safely operate a personal and/or company motor vehicle.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • Able to push/pull 80+ lbs.
  • Able to lift/carry 80+ lbs.

  • Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project team in developing the construction schedule and provide weekly updates of the same.
  • Supervise field crews and mentor assistant superintendents.
  • Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy, and procedural or staff changes.
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in accordance with the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project(s).
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Coordinate and schedule required inspections with local jurisdictions and the testing laboratory.
  • Maintain daily reports of construction activities from the jobsite on HCSS.
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
  • Perform daily reviews of the Units/Project to monitor activities and plan future activities.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner and all debris is appropriately cleared.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the review and approval of all subcontractor and vendor pay requests.
  • Regularly review project budget and schedule with the Project Manager to ensure the project is on track.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the construction project.
  • Ensure all on-site compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, and company policies.
  • Regular attendance is required according to company policy to ensure the crew can operate at the normal efficiency level.
  • Performs other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned.
