About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of the Construction Group, the Superintendent will communicate with Leasing Team, Property Management Team and General Contractors to facilitate the turns and maintenance of a portfolio of residential assets. This position will assist the Senior Vice President to perform all aspects of construction management, including but not limited to the below listed Essential Functions. This position is expected to travel locally within the Greater Houston and San Antonio metro areas daily, to support the timely execution of the job responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in construction management with previous experience managing high-volume renovation programs, turns and/or maintenance for single family homes
  • Team player who constantly seeks to improve personal performance, and the performance of all teammates in the organization
  • Provides excellent customer service approach towards internal employees and third-party partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, and multi-tasking skills
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SFR industry
  • Must be highly organized, accurate, and punctual and able to operate well in a high-paced start-up environment
  • Handles change in a positive manner and identifies opportunities to improve processes
  • High School Diploma and above
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook Proficiency
  • Ability to travel locally by car is required

Nice To Haves

  • Navigational knowledge of Salesforce, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Vice President as the local construction representatives for all aspects of construction process related to activities onsite
  • Review, understand and implement the construction and maintenance standards of the platform
  • Assist with managing a network of general contractors, and provide leadership, organization and clear direction to optimize performance
  • Able to travel locally, driving to multiple home locations per day
  • Conduct and lead all meetings in the field with general contractors, including but not limited to bid walk meetings, pre-con meetings, and punch list meetings
  • Responsible to track and achieve target completion dates for all schedule activities across all assigned assets
  • Responsible to track and achieve budget goals across all assigned assets
  • Manage construction tasks/updates in Salesforce or other designated systems
  • Address inquiries from third parties and internal staff professionally and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate hand-off of properties under rehab to the HHM Property Management/Leasing Team
