The Supervisor will be responsible for complete oversight, supervision, planning, and coordination of the daily work of 11 staff members; including (2) carpenters, (2) locksmiths, and (7) general maintenance technicians (GMT) working on all University's campus buildings; 24 hours, 7 days a week. Utilizing a combination of employees and contractors, this person will oversee the maintenance and repair of building structures. Work includes but is not limited to; general interior repairs and upkeep; doors, locks, openers, and keys; repairs and maintenance of building envelope systems including roof, glass, and masonry; and maintenance of elevators and ADA lifts and ramps. This position also oversees the mechanical key systems and tracking of all University building keys through key management software. Provides input on capital, renovation, and general repair projects to ensure code compliance and adherence to established Brandeis standards. Will have oversight of small project planning and execution, in conjunction with Brandeis Capital Programs team. Responsible for extensive coordination and communication with faculty and staff throughout campus to ensure smooth operation of and maintenance for all above building systems. The hiring range for this position is $98.2k - $104.2k The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is a 35 hour a week position. The Building Trades Supervisor will primarily work on-site in various indoor and outdoor settings, including construction sites, lab facilities, and office and classroom environments. It is expected that approximately 50% of time will be in the office and 50% be on job sites/work throughout campus. The position may require occasional work outside of regular business hours to accommodate project needs or emergencies. Observe safety rules at all times. Read, write, understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English. Work on ladders and scaffolds, and in bucket trucks, pits and manholes. Manually lift up to 60 pounds (heavier material or equipment is lifted using other methods). Drive a university vehicle.
