The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the city. The Division of Facilities Management, Real Estate and Construction (FMC) is responsible for the maintenance of all DEP facilities, Responsible for all Real Estate, Property Management, and Maintenance at over 300 City-owned and leased DEP facilities. The bureau provides facilities management and administrative support services to DEP in the areas of asbestos / lead assessment and abatement, mold remediation, capital projects, construction services, services, real estate management and space planning. We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Supervisor to lead and coordinate a team of skilled carpenters and related trades. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role, excels at planning and overseeing complex carpentry projects, and is committed to maintaining high quality workmanship throughout all phases of construction, maintenance, and repair. Reporting to the Director of Construction Services, the Supervisor Carpenter will carry out the responsibilities outlined below.
