About The Position

The job Supervisor, Central Utility Plant was established for the purpose/s of providing leadership oversight and hands on maintenance, compliance documentation and overall operations with specific responsibility for ensuring completion of assigned work order projects and continued operation of all assets falling under the Central Utility plant scope of responsibility; performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities (e. g., plumbing, electrical, chilled water plant, cogeneration plant, steam boiler plant, Direct Digital Control, Fire System Control, , Emergency Generator Systems, Computer Monitoring Systems, etc.) and any other duties as directed; . Works independently and interdependently within the hospital network to accomplish efficient, cost effective, quality patient care. Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of SJHHC.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate discipline with three (3) years progressive experience in the field or High School graduate or recognized equivalent plus formal trade/vocational school training with five (5) years related experience.
  • Ideally the candidate will have three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Or an AAS degree in an appropriate discipline with six (6) plus years progressive experience in the field will be considered based on specific department needs and/or requirements.
  • Certification / licensure as required by regulatory agency.
  • Participates in orientation and continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
  • Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong participatory management, team building and administrative skills.
  • Broad based knowledge of related regulatory compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree is a plus/requirement, depending on specific service needs and/or requirements.
  • Experience with capital expenditures and budgeting preferred.
