About The Position

Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Supervisor – Corporate Accounting is to assist in the management of the global consolidation process, collaborate with other departments and global counterparts to ensure the proper application of U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies, assist with the preparation of SEC financial statements, perform technical accounting research and assist with special projects. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 4-8 years finance/accounting experience; with minimum 2-4 years’ experience in large public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to: Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work a hybrid schedule with an expectation of being onsite as frequently as needed to meet business priorities, as determined by the department head.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
  • Assist with the monthly corporate consolidation and financial closing process.
  • Assist with the governance and maintenance of the existing Accounting Manual that covers our most prevalent transactions, including chart of account definitions, account reconciliations, etc.
  • Coordinate Corporate Accounting department activities with our global counterparts as well as with other departments within the organization.
  • Assist with global and domestic finance/accounting related projects.
  • Perform technical accounting research and drafts memos to support accounting positions.
  • Assist with various functions of LVSC’s external and internal financial reporting process when needed (SEC filings, Audit Committee materials, etc.).
  • Coordinate and contribute to the review of complex contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Ensure proper preparation and review of all responses to information document requests from external auditors.
  • Advise management of problem areas and request assistance as necessary.
  • Identify potential problems, recommend sound solutions and support implementation
  • Support departmental and company decisions, even if unpopular.
  • Provide input into and executes strategic plan for Corporate Accounting consistent with the strategic vision of LVSC.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.
  • Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
