About The Position

Supervisor, Financial Operations is responsible for ensuring Zelis receives all contractually owed payments by leading the day-to-day execution of the payment recovery team and maintaining strong operational discipline. This includes overseeing accurate invoice generation and timely remediation of identified errors; monitoring failed ACH and card transactions and coordinating follow-up to ensure issues are routed and addressed; supporting recovery of fees, misdirected funds, and overpayment refunds; and delivering accurate daily reporting on amounts owed, funds received, aging, and variances. The Supervisor ensures work is completed on time, according to documented procedures, and with appropriate controls and quality checks. This role escalates exceptions, recurring issues, and operational risks to the Sr. Manager, and partners with team members to gather frontline observations and operational context. Strategic planning, capacity planning, prioritization models, root-cause analysis, and broader process/control design are owned by the Sr. Manager (or appropriate leadership/functions). The Supervisor’s role is to execute reliably, maintain visibility to day-to-day performance, and communicate what the team is seeing.

Requirements

  • Must have 5+ years of experience which includes 3+ years leading or managing a team of 5+ team members.
  • Downstream financial and operational impact experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 products (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate/Advanced level of Excel experience to include: Creating, building and analyzing operational and financial performance reporting Spreadsheet creation with formulas and pivot tables Power Query experience helpful
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct people leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and metric-driven accountability.
  • Lead end-to-end recoupment and payment recovery operations, ensuring financial recovery targets are met and payment leakage is minimized.
  • Set priorities based on financial impact, risk exposure, and aging; ensure work is distributed and executed effectively.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance metrics; proactively identify risks and escalate with data-backed recommendations.
  • Own client and vendor escalations, ensuring timely resolution, clear communication, and documented follow-through.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve complex issues and drive sustainable process improvements.
  • Deliver clear, executive-ready reporting and updates to management and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, accuracy standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
