About The Position

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social drivers of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers throughout Central Indiana serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life. Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, this role is responsible for the overall food service operations for a four to eight month long residential recovery program continuum and its guests. The Supervisor handles administrative duties and, when necessary, assists with food preparation, staffing, and inventory management. The Food Services Supervisor also plans menus with the assistance of any dietician resources (if provided) and kitchen staff. The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective sourcing and use of equipment, food and supplies in order to allow for the effective preparation and delivery of meals at Progress House. The Food Services Supervisor will manage the Food Services operation in a manner that provides and delivers quality, healthy, timely, cost-efficient and sufficient meals to residents, staff, and visitors. The Food Services Supervisor will ensure that all food safety standards are met. The Progress House is a community staple that has helped men recover for over 60 years.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three (3) years of related work experience in the food service industry with at least one (1) year experience as a food services team lead, assistant, supervisor and/or manager required
  • Servsafe certificate or its equivalent in food safety required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with coaching and managing staff and developing high-performance teams preferred
  • A lived-experience perspective of populations with substance use disorder, the recovery community, and the 12-Step Model is preferred
  • Food Protection Manager Certification (FPMC) and/or Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) designation a plus

Responsibilities
