Supervisor, Fabrication - 1st Shift 5:00 am - 1:30 pm Direct Unit Operations to assure effectiveness and efficiency of resources to achieve performance goals.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction, millwork or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exhibited Leadership skills either through formal leadership roles or informal leadership roles.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills
  • Vigilant about safety
  • Quality oriented

  • 5-S training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Develop and implement headcount/staffing guidelines while controlling manpower costs.
  • Interview, hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace employees as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded.
  • Perform all time approval functions and coordinate times off coverage.
  • Maintain a high degree of leadership and supervisory skills including developing and training employees to assume positions of increasing responsibilities; evaluating employees and providing feedback to perform better; conducting daily shift meetings for Safety and Production.
  • Ensure all incidents including environmental and near misses are properly reported, investigated and documented with preventive/corrective actions and employee statements.
  • Drive continuous improvement plans which lead to cost reductions including 5S.
  • Interact with and share service findings to Quality team for improvements.
  • Review and recommend any process improvements to include but not limited to employee development, production methods, equipment, quality, safety, service and overall performance of the shift.
  • Deliver training to shift employee in various areas including but not limited to setup/operation, testing, troubleshooting, machine metrics reporting and safety procedures.
  • Identify potential career paths for employees and work with the employee to develop their skills and knowledge to progress within the company.
  • Provide documentation and follow up to training and job responsibilities.
  • Assign and manage employee schedules.
  • Complete paperwork relative to line operation.
  • Support Preventive Maintenance and downtime events as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all safety polices and address all unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Administer policies and local plant practices in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provide coaching/counseling to employees and progressive discipline when needed, based upon company guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate daily with other production departments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
