Sungrow, a high-tech fresh produce greenhouse in Ontario, New York, and a member of the Mastronardi Group of Companies, is currently seeking a Grading Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain the operation of the functional support area within the organization. Must maintain food safety, monitoring of GMP (good manufacturing policy) compliance and organization of essential functional support area documentation for daily, monthly and annual operation and auditing purposes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years of supervisory experience required, food production experience preferred.
  • Accuracy with numbers, calculating and estimating a must.
  • Good communicator verbal / written.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hydroponic growing industry an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel working in the functional support area ensuring safe operation of equipment and maximize productivity efficiencies.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting all quick fix preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Responsible for training of the personnel working on the functional support area floor and monitoring their progress.
  • Completion of quality checks, trial data and waste reports.
  • Work closely with the Labor Manager in communicating labor requirements as required (weekly, monthly, seasonally, offshore programs, etc).
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory for all pack house supplies.
  • Complete corrective action reports for rejected products.
  • Maintain dialogue with Human Resources regarding coaching, disciplining, vacation requests, absenteeism, tardiness, etc.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment is maintained to meet Food Safety Standards.
  • Ensure that all Health and Food Safety work requirements are communicated with employees prior to placing them in new positions.
  • Employee Evaluations.
  • Create & maintain a safe, efficient and positive work atmosphere.
