Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in metrology, quality engineering, or dimensional control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience with demonstrated people management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, datum structures, and dimensional control strategies.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement equipment, including CMMs, scan boxes, inline systems, gauges, laser trackers, and portable metrology systems.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards related to metrology and calibration (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.)
  • Well versed with digital metrology software (PolyWorks, ZEISS Inspect, PiWeb, Minitab, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Skilled in effectively communicating both verbally and in writing
  • Well versed in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the metrology team to ensure accurate measurement, calibration, and inspection of parts, assemblies, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain metrology procedures and standards in compliance with ISO and industry requirements.
  • Oversee calibration, verification, and maintenance of all measurement equipment, including CMMs, gauges, and portable systems.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve dimensional and measurement-related issues.
  • Review and analyze measurement data, CMM reports, SPC results, and GR&R studies to support process capability and product quality.
  • Provide regular reporting and technical insight to management to drive process optimization and risk reduction.
  • Ensure measurement systems are capable, repeatable, and suitable for production and pre-series activities.
  • Train and mentor metrology technicians and engineers in best practices, measurement techniques, and problem-solving methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on accuracy, efficiency, and standardization of measurement systems.
  • Support new product launches by validating measurement strategies, fixtures, and inspection plans.
