About The Position

The Supervisor, Production (Manufacturing) oversees the operations of an assigned manufacturing production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Ensures physical and workforce resources are adequate to meet the organization's production schedule. This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a combination of education and/or equivalent and/or transferrable experience in manufacturing operations environment may be considered
  • Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution
  • Oversee daily production schedule and team members to ensure daily targets are met
  • Supervise, train, mentor and coach regular and temporary manufacturing team members
  • Ability to manage large teams in a high volume, automated manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and ability to apply lean manufacturing principals
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment
  • General knowledge of manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, mechanical and instrument operations and maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team responsible for operating production machinery or assembling products.
  • Responsible for the quantity and quality of work of the assigned department and coordinating work with other sections or departments.
  • Responsible for planning the flow of department production and affecting improved methods and procedures for higher production efficiency.
  • Ensures the department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Develops, implements, and supports the use of Lean Manufacturing Concepts where applicable.
  • Responsible for providing work instruction and day-to-day record keeping/charts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
