About The Position

Lead an assigned team of hourly associates through daily functions to ensure operations excellence. Responsible to drive lean principles, implement and sustain continuous improvement projects, in the areas of Safety, Quality, waste reduction and productivity. Plan, direct, coordinate and communicate all manufacturing related issues in accordance with SOP’s and cGMP’s in order to achieve product performance objectives and exceed productivity goals. Responsible for ensuring associate completion of functional training, ongoing growth and development, and certifications are current and completed in a timely manner. Will interact routinely with multiple levels of management within operations, planning, warehouse and logistical distribution, quality, maintenance, engineering, and human resources.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Management or Operations or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Lean principles
  • 3-5 years of Production Line Supervision experience preferred. 1-3 years’ experience required.
  • Hands-on knowledge of production systems, project management, leadership skills, influence skills, root cause analysis, team leadership, ability to self-generate improvement ideas and take into action, Windows operating systems, SPC concepts.
  • Able to work shift(s) hours as assigned.
  • Stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift 20lbs. and navigate stairs continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the direction of an assigned team of hourly associates.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety, effective communication, motivation, quality performance, and accountability to company policies, SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Responsible for the operations and production results of the facility to include goal achievement, problem solving coordination, establishment of shift priorities and achievement of production results.
  • Directs and allocates resources to meet daily production standards.
  • Proactively reviews time and attendance to ensure timely corrections related to miss punches, time codes, attendance points, compensation, and errors.
  • Responsible for identifying training and developmental needs of assigned associates and coordinating such with the training team.
  • Develop and mentor associates through regular feedback, open communication and setting clear expectations.
  • Evaluate employee performance during probationary period (45/90 day).
  • Ensure accuracy of department production reporting.
  • Investigate and report all accidents and near misses that occur on the line.
  • Implement preventative action to address every accident in order to prevent it from happening again or reduce the risk significantly.
  • Investigate and report all quality nonconformances that occur on the line.
  • Develop and implement both corrective actions as well as preventative actions to eliminate or drastically reduce the potential for recurrence.
  • Resolves conflicts that arise among team members, handles discipline and terminations in accordance with company policies.
  • Report to the Value Stream Manager any information, which goes beyond daily operational issues.
  • Maintain communications regarding efficiencies, downtime, quality, issues, employee relations concerns, scheduling conflicts or any other information that affects the success of the operation.
  • Effectively communicate urgent job scheduling issues with the Scheduling Department.
  • Coordinates labor demands with VSM’s and Scheduling to ensure that costs are fiscally responsible.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement processes to include observations, reporting, projects, initiatives, process implementation, and problem-solving processes for manufacturing associates and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a respectful relationship with all plant personnel that creates a positive world class working culture.
  • Always maintain a tour ready facility.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Value Stream Manager.
