DESCRIPTION: Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Supply Chain Supervisor and contribute to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As Supervisor, Supply Chain, you will lead day-to-day warehouse execution to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time material flow that supports manufacturing and customer delivery commitments. You will supervise a team of warehouse associates/material handlers and flex across Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Distribution, Picking, and Staging based on operational needs. This role provides leadership coverage across various shifts and ensures effective shift handoffs and continuity of service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials management preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience required.
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PPI)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and supply chain management software
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and international environment
  • Experience with inventory management and material planning
  • Fluent English communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Strong customer service orientation with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements
  • Experience implementing change management initiatives and process improvements
  • Ability to lift 20lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Additional relevant certifications in supply chain, logistics, or quality management a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
  • Knowledge of import/export compliance and global trade regulations

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities across Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Distribution, Picking, and Staging; flex between areas as needed to meet site priorities.
  • Provide leadership coverage across various shifts (including weekends/holidays as required); manage shift handoffs, communicate priorities, and ensure consistent execution across shifts.
  • Direct and prioritize work for warehouse associates/material handlers; coach performance, ensure engagement, and support training/qualification requirements.
  • Ensure compliant receiving execution: coordinate dock activities, verify documentation, process receipts, and ensure proper labeling, segregation, and storage of materials and equipment.
  • Oversee inventory control activities including cycle counts, reconciliations, investigation of variances, and corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Lead picking/kitting and staging to support production schedules, ensuring right-first-time selection, FEFO/FIFO adherence, and timely material delivery to the point of use.
  • Manage outbound shipping execution as applicable (packing, staging, documentation, carrier coordination) while maintaining cGMP and safety expectations.
  • Perform and/or oversee SAP/WMS transactions required for receipts, transfers, inventory movements, and shipment activities; troubleshoot system issues and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain cGMP/Good Documentation Practices and site safety requirements at all times; ensure controlled and temperature-sensitive materials are handled per procedure.
  • Own warehouse documentation and standard work: create, review, revise, and/or develop SOPs and work instructions; ensure training is current and effective.
  • Coordinate material handling equipment readiness (forklifts, pallet jacks, drum dollies, etc.); initiate work orders and serve as point of contact with Facilities and contractors for maintenance and repairs.
  • Partner with Quality, EH&S, Operations, Planning, and Procurement to resolve material issues, support audits/inspections, and execute continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/5S).
  • Support hazardous waste and materials handling/disposal activities in partnership with EH&S; ensure proper segregation and documentation.
