About The Position

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Underwriting Support Supervisor to work out of our Scottsdale, Arizona location to provide day-to-day oversite for Account Managers within the Aviation Underwriting Support unit. Underwriting Support consists of a team of production-oriented, customer-centric, problem-solving, detail-driven Account Managers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Requirements

  • Must Have:
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent, The equivalent is defined as 7 years of relevant insurance experience.
  • 3 years of insurance experience with some leadership exposure.
  • Knowledge of Underwriting Support processes and procedures.
  • Experience in rating and policy issuance platforms, as well as system testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work throughout the organization at different levels.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
  • To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to Have:
  • 1+ years of coaching, leading and/or supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Account Manager or Assistant Underwriter.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Inland Marine and/or Commercial Property insurance products.

  • Oversees training and quality product output of account management staff.
  • Coordinates work to meet production and service expectations.
  • Drives engagement and creates a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, coaching conversations, team meetings and individual one on ones with staff.
  • Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
