About the position

This position is a federal role requiring a qualified candidate to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the job. The role involves providing professional nursing care, reviewing medical records, administering medication, and assisting physicians with procedures. Candidates must have a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Licensure as a professional nurse is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Review medical records and administer medication in accordance with instructions.
  • Assist physicians with procedures.
  • Implement life-saving procedures in emergency situations.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and health instruction to patients.
  • Identify disease entities and recognize complications and therapeutic interventions required.

Requirements

  • Graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
  • Passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
