About The Position

The Powertrain Supplier Quality Development Lead has a supervisory position available within the Transmission, Driveline and Engine groups. Responsibilities of this position include leading and developing a collective team of SQEs, overseeing several commodities while also having direct responsibility for a given commodity and ownership of the supply base to assure processes and quality of parts produced meet and exceed all expectations. The role will have direct involvement with the full life cycle of components from early development, sourcing, launch phase, and into production. Drive continuous improvement/read-across activities with suppliers to reduce warranty and improve supplier performance. Work cross functionally with Engineering and Purchasing on items such as commodity strategies for components under his/her responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum 8 years work experience in quality, engineering, production, manufacturing or related field
  • Self-motivated/ organized/ accountable and with a strong sense of urgency / able to prioritize with minimal supervision
  • Strong Communication, analytical and negotiation skills at all levels of management
  • Team building, coaching and program management skills
  • Ability to travel within the North America Region
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Engineering Master's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years Program Management experience
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with powertrain areas, plastics, casting, forging, machining and assembly
