Applied MaterialsSanta Clara, CA

About The Position

We are seeking a senior leader to define, operationalize, and accelerate adoption of AI across Global Supply Chain, spanning purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, risk intelligence, and decision augmentation. This role will own the multi-year AI capability roadmap, develop & prioritize the highest-value use cases, and partner across Supply Chain, Operations, and IT to deliver AI-enabled workflows that improve speed, resilience, and decision quality. The role will also contribute materially to long-term supply chain strategy by bringing cross-industry best practices in digitization, predictive capabilities, and global operating models. This position is central to building an AI-enabled supply chain that can scale with complexity (e.g., large supplier ecosystem) to predictive and resilient supply chain.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in one or more of: supply chain/procurement, digital transformation, analytics/AI product delivery, or strategy/consulting roles with operational ownership.
  • Demonstrated success building and executing multi-year roadmaps and scaling initiatives across multiple functions (process + technology).
  • Strong understanding of supply chain/procurement workflows (purchasing, sourcing, supplier performance management, risk).
  • Experience translating business problems into AI/analytics solutions (use case definition, requirements, data readiness, deployment/adoption).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management: ability to influence and drive alignment across senior leaders and technical teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI-enabled supply chain capabilities
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms and integrations (ERP/procurement ecosystems) and data governance practices.
  • MBA, MS (Operations/Analytics), or equivalent advanced degree; or equivalent experience leading complex transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Supply Chain AI Roadmap & Portfolio Lead development and ongoing evolution of a multi-year AI roadmap for supply chain processes (purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, risk intelligence, decision support), balancing near-term wins with longer-term transformation. Establish an objective use case intake, sizing, and prioritization mechanism (value, feasibility, data readiness, adoption risk, time-to-impact). Define “North Star” process maturity targets and the progression from foundational capabilities to advanced/agentic workflows (e.g., predictive risk monitoring, automated scorecards, workflow automation).
  • Operationalize AI in Core Workflows (from concept to deployed capability) Translate prioritized use cases into product-ready requirements, target operating model changes, and measurable outcomes Partner with teams to build enabling foundations: data governance, data quality, integration readiness, and model monitoring.
  • AI Governance, Change Management, and Adoption Build and execute a pragmatic AI governance and change management approach—stakeholder alignment, capability development, adoption playbooks, and communication. Address common adoption barriers (trust, job impact concerns, skills evolution) through training and structured rollout plans.
  • Long-Term Supply Chain Strategy & Cross-Industry Benchmarking Bring cross-industry perspective to challenge assumptions, identify blind spots, and strengthen long-term strategy around digitization, predictive supply chain, resilience, and scalable global operating models. Benchmark external practices and incorporate relevant insights into roadmap and operating model (best practices, maturity models, lessons learned).
  • Value Realization, Metrics, and Executive Cadence Define success metrics and a value tracking system (business impact, cycle time reduction, forecast accuracy, risk prevention, automation rate, adoption). Provide executive-ready updates: roadmap progress, dependency management, investment tradeoffs, and decision points.
