The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain strategy, including procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and supplier relationships. This role ensures efficient operations, cost control, and high service levels while aligning supply chain activities with organizational goals. The Director will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve processes, strengthen supplier partnerships, and enhance supply chain resilience.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations.
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Negotiation of cost reductions, vendor consolidation programs, and supply contracts required
  • ERP systems implementation, especially QAD
  • Systematic management of suppliers including establishment of KPIs required
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in supply chain planning, procurement, and logistics management.
  • Experience with QAD and other ERP systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive organizational change.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA or related field) preferred.
  • Experience managing complex supply chains in manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments preferred
  • Medical device, aerospace, and/or regulated industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead and mentor supply chain, procurement, planning, and logistics teams.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor supplier performance, operational efficiency, and service levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Oversee sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive cost reduction and supplier consolidation strategies to create enterprise value
  • Manage supplier performance and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Direct demand forecasting and supply planning processes.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels with working capital goals.
  • Implement inventory control practices to reduce waste and obsolescence.
  • Oversee our 3PL, transportation, and warehousing operations.
  • Ensure efficient product flow from suppliers to customers.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs while maintaining service standards.
  • Implement supply chain technology and analytics to improve decision-making.
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company policies.
  • Work closely with finance, sales, operations, and product teams to align supply chain activities.
  • Support product launches and business expansion initiatives.
  • Provide strategic insights to executive leadership regarding supply chain risks and opportunities.
