BLUE ORIGINWest Melbourne, FL

About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Blue Origin is seeking an Individual Contributor focused on rapid warehouse process improvement, standardization, and disciplined execution. This role will build and sustain daily operational rigor (including a standardized GEMBA), drive lean improvements across receiving, shipping, and kitting, and partner across the business to scale fulfillment capability as demand and rate increase. A key focus will be improving First Pass Yield (FPY) in receiving and kitting by exposing defect drivers upstream and preventing non-conforming work from being pushed into warehouse queues.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of fulfillment processes, including receiving, shipping, and kitting.
  • Demonstrated experience solving operational problems and generating solutions in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment.
  • Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing / lean warehouse concepts (waste elimination, flow, pull, standard work, visual management).
  • Proven ability to lead structured process improvement exercises (Kaizen, VSM, A3, 5-Why, root cause/countermeasure implementation).
  • Experience using data to drive decisions, including building KPI dashboards and leading metric reviews (e.g., FPY, cycle time, rework).
  • Ability to drive alignment without direct authority; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience improving warehouse operations across multiple sites/locations.
  • Familiarity with WMS/ERP systems and warehouse KPI reporting (inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock, pick/kit cycle time, on-time shipment, productivity).
  • Background in high-mix, high-compliance manufacturing or aerospace/industrial fulfillment environments.
  • Experience partnering with Supplier Quality / Engineering to reduce defect injection and improve upstream quality.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement a daily standard GEMBA process across warehouse operations, focused on identifying constraints, improving flow, and enabling fast issue resolution.
  • Lead FPY deep dives for receiving and kitting queues: define FPY metrics, build/maintain reporting, perform Pareto analysis of defect types, quantify rework hours/cycle time impact, and drive countermeasures.
  • Identify and surface upstream defect injection (supplier quality escapes, engineering changes/ambiguity, missing/incorrect documentation, packaging/labeling issues, part configuration errors) that is currently being pushed into warehouse workload and increasing cycle times; partner with owners to eliminate recurrence.
  • Lead inventory placement and capacity discussions across all warehouse locations; drive decisions and actions for space, layout, slotting, and expansion needs.
  • Conduct value stream mapping for end-to-end warehouse processes (receiving, put-away, storage, picking, kitting, shipping), identifying bottlenecks and waste.
  • Deliver “quick wins” with 3–5 day implementation timelines across all sites; develop and execute longer-term strategies to improve cycle time and efficiency, especially in receiving and kitting.
  • Own weekly KPI tracking and action planning (“know the plan, nail the plan”): identify gaps, set countermeasures, and drive forward-looking actions to improve performance.
  • Collaborate daily and weekly with cross-functional stakeholders (operations, supply chain, manufacturing, planning, quality, engineering, IT systems, EHS) to improve infrastructure, tools, and support required to scale warehouse execution and reduce rework burden.
  • Standardize work and drive adoption: develop standard work, visual management, training materials, and audit mechanisms to ensure improvements stick.
  • Lead structured problem solving (A3, 5-Why, fishbone, Kaizen) and translate findings into implemented, measurable solutions.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
  • Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
  • Dependent on role type and job level, employees may be eligible for benefits and bonuses based on the company's intent to reward individual contributions and enable them to share in the company's results, or other factors at the company's sole discretion.
  • Bonus amounts and eligibility are not guaranteed and subject to change and cancellation.
