About The Position

Safe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families through shelters, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, rental assistance, and homeownership programs. ULMS has officially opened our permanent supportive housing facility in Federal Way WA. This site is staffed 24/7 - Day, swing, and graveyard shifts are available. All hires must be available to work at least 2 different shifts and at least 1 weekend day per week. The Support Service Staff position supports residents by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized space. This position is responsible for providing and/or assisting residents in accessing support services, community integration, life skill training, housing maintenance, transportation, and other needed services

Requirements

  • 2 years of direct experience working with individuals who face challenges and barriers including homelessness
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read and write in standard English
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working with homeless individuals is strongly preferred
  • Non-profit experience strongly preferred
